La Boheme

Image
La Boh è me, composed by Giacommo Puccini, is a beautifully constructed masterpiece unlike any other.  The opera is about a tragic love story of a young, poor man named Rodolfo, who finds a love interest in his next door neighbor, Mimi. The opera consists of an extremely talented cast that deserves endless recognition. They are delightful  to look at , outstanding in their vocal interpretations and extraordinary actors all together. Each character has their own unique role and all do an amazing job in making the audience feel as if they know one another on a personal level. The audience is able to relate more to the characters because Puccini did an excellent job in making them as real as possible.  The love that Rodolfo and Mimi share is something that all of us as humans strive far, so we can’t help but to wish for the best for the both of them. We watch how the connection between the two gradually becomes stronger and we love every minute of it. It isn’t all perfect though. Tow

Dr. Raul Cueros interview

Dr. Raul Cuero's interview about creativity was nothing less that a mind opening and motivational speech. Dr. Raul Cuero is a man of great intelligence and someone whom everyone should look up to. From his lows to his highs, Raul Cuero always remembered his worth and never let anything stop him or get in his way. He was a sole believer in the saying "if you want it, get it" because everything in this world is up for grabs, it just depends on the amount of work and dedication an individual decides to put in to achieve that goal. In Raul's mind, creativity flows the most once someone goes above and beyond and does more than what people expect of themselves.         It truly is amazing how Dr. Cuero managed to keep his head held so high despite all of the obstacles he was facing. Regardless what the situation might have been, Dr. Cuero always looked at the positives and never let the negatives deter him. These simple things are so small but play such a big impact

Pjotr Sapegins Madama Butterfly

Pjotr Sapegin’s Madama Butterfly animation is a video you would not think to engage in at first glance. It is a perfect example of the saying “never judge a book by its cover” but in this case a film. The story-telling and the visuals in this animation are both unique and beautiful, which gives me an idea of just how passionate Pjotr Sapegin was.         Throughout the film I felt myself gradually grow sorrow for Madama and could only imagine what she was feeling. Pjotr did an excellent job of sharing Madamas pain with the viewers, especially when she took her own life. The way he transitions from his clay world to the confinements of his home was a risky move but a genius one at that. It reminded me that this stuff does happen in the real world and not just in films.         The anguish in this film definitely outweighs the positives, but in my opinion that’s what makes an opera so beautiful and captivating. Sadness is a major key in operas because without it, lessons can no

My name is Gavin Gonzalez and I'm an extremely open person who loves to meet new people. I was born and raised in South Philadelphia and loved every minute of it. I am 18 years old and chose Tampa due to its beautiful campus and endless positive opinions about it. Classes here so far have been a huge change from the high school setting I'm use to, but its everything I've ever dreamt of. This class seems like it'll be interesting because it is all new to me. I expect to come out of this class knowing more about Art and Technology than I've ever known befo. I am also a huge Game of Thrones fan as you can see here.
